Privacy Policy — Taxi Palestine Apps

Last updated: July 2026 — This policy applies to the "Taxi Palestine" (customer) and "Taxi Office" (offices & drivers) apps.

1. Who we are

Taxi Palestine is a taxi requesting and dispatch platform for the West Bank, Palestine. Official website: taxipalestine.com. Privacy contact: OriginalTaxiPalestine@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: full name, phone number, and password (stored hashed). For drivers we also collect vehicle type and plate number.
• Location: the customer app uses your location when requesting a ride to set the pickup point. The driver app collects location repeatedly while the driver is on duty ("available" or on a trip) to show it to the taxi office and to the trip's customer. Driver location is not collected while off duty or when the app is closed.
• Trip data: pickup/destination addresses, times, status, ratings and comments.
• Notification token (FCM): a technical device identifier used solely to deliver app notifications (e.g., "driver nearby", "new trip") via Google Firebase.

3. How we use data

• Operating the service: connecting customers with taxi offices and drivers.
• Showing live driver location to the office, and to the customer during their trip only.
• Sending trip-related notifications.
• Improving the service and troubleshooting.

We do not sell your data, do not share it for marketing/advertising, and the apps contain no ads.

4. Data sharing

• Within the service: a taxi office sees only its own trips and drivers. A customer sees the driver's name, phone, and vehicle details only after the driver accepts the trip. A driver sees details of trips assigned to them.
• Technical providers: data is hosted on secure servers (Hetzner, Germany); notifications are delivered via Firebase (Google); verification SMS via a local SMS provider. Each receives only what is technically necessary.
• We do not disclose data to any other party except under legal obligation.

5. Storage & security

• All data is transmitted encrypted over HTTPS.
• Passwords are hashed with standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.
• Live driver locations are cached briefly (minutes) and auto-deleted; trip records remain in the service history.

6. Your rights

• You can edit your account data inside the app.
• You can request permanent deletion of your account and data by emailing us; we will respond within a reasonable period.
• You can revoke location or notification permissions from your device settings at any time (note the service fundamentally relies on location).

7. Children

The service is intended for users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the latest version will always be published on this page with its date.
